Meaning

Intee ku nooshahay? means where do you live?. Intee means where (literally which place), ku means in or at, and nooshahay is nool (living, alive) plus tahay (you are), so the question is where do you live? Xagee baad ku nooshahay? means the same and is just as common. Answer with Waxaan ku noolahay plus the place, where noolahay is nool plus ahay (I am). It is one of the first questions Somalis ask each other in the diaspora.
