Meaning

Waan xanaaqsanahay means i am angry. Xanaaqsan means angry, from xanaaq (anger), and with waan (I) and -ahay (I am) it becomes I am angry. It is a strong but normal thing for a child to say, and better than acting the anger out. The usual reply is Maxaad u xanaaqsan tahay? (why are you angry?). To tell someone to calm down, say Ha xanaaqin, do not be angry.
