20 (twenty)
Labaatan is twenty. It is built from laba (two) and the ending -tan that marks the tens, so it is literally "two tens". Twenty-one is labaatan iyo kow, and the pattern continues up to boqol, one hundred.
Tip: After twenty, the order flips: twenty-one is labaatan iyo kow, "twenty and one".
Point at the real thing and say "Labaatan" whenever it comes up, then let your child hear the native recording and say it back. One word used ten times in a day beats ten words drilled once.
