Meaning

Madax is the head. It is also the word for the top or the leader of anything: madaxa qoyska is the head of the family, and madaxweyne, literally big head, is the president. The head is madaxa.

Tip: Madaxweyne, the Somali word for president, is simply madax plus weyn, big.
