Meaning

Kabo means shoes. It is plural: one shoe is kab, and the shoes is kabaha. Shoes come off at the door in Somali homes, so the pair of commands to know is kabahaaga gasho, put your shoes on, and kabaha iska bixi, take your shoes off.

Tip: Say kabahaaga gasho every morning and within weeks it will not need translating.

Example sentences

Kabahaaga gasho.Put your shoes on.
Kabaha iska bixi.Take your shoes off.

Using Kabo at home

Point at the real thing and say "Kabo" whenever it comes up, then let your child hear the native recording and say it back. One word used ten times in a day beats ten words drilled once. In the Luuqad app, Kabo is taught with a picture, tested in the Clothing quiz and practised in Drag & Learn.
