Meaning

Nalka Taraafikada means the traffic light, literally the light of the traffic. Nal is a light or lamp, the same word taught in the House topic, and taraafiko is traffic, borrowed from English. Waiting at the lights is a natural moment to practise colours: guduud (red), jaalle (yellow), cagaar (green).

Tip: Two words your child already knows, nal and the colours, make this phrase easy to remember.

Example sentences

Nalka taraafikada waa cagaar, soco. The traffic light is green, go.
