Meaning

Miis is a table. It is masculine: the table is miiska, and the plural is miisas. Miiska saar, put it on the table, is the phrase that gets dinner served.

Tip: Saar means put on top of something, so miiska saar is literally table-on-put.

Example sentences

Cuntada miiska saar.Put the food on the table.
Miisku waa weyn yahay. The table is big.

Using Miis at home

Point at the real thing and say "Miis" whenever it comes up, then let your child hear the native recording and say it back. One word used ten times in a day beats ten words drilled once. In the Luuqad app, Miis is taught with a picture, tested in the House quiz and practised in Heritage Hunt and Drag & Learn.
