Meaning

Faraxsan means happy or glad. It comes from farax, joy. Like most Somali feeling words it is an adjective that joins the verb to be: waan faraxsanahay, I am happy; waad faraxsan tahay, you are happy. The app teaches the full sentence in the Express Emotion lesson.

Tip: Add aad u for very: aad baan u faraxsanahay, I am very happy.

Using Faraxsan at home

Point at the real thing and say "Faraxsan" whenever it comes up, then let your child hear the native recording and say it back. One word used ten times in a day beats ten words drilled once. In the Luuqad app, Faraxsan is taught with a picture, tested in the Emotions quiz and practised in Tap the Word.
