FA-sal
Fasal (Class): illustration from the Luuqad School lesson

Meaning

Fasal means class or classroom. It came from Arabic and is a masculine noun, fasalka, with the plural fasallo. It is also the word for a school year or grade: fasalka koowaad is first grade.

Tip: Ask your child fasalkee baad dhigataa? (which grade are you in?) to practise it.

Example sentences

Fasalku waa weyn yahay. The classroom is big.
Fasalka gal.Go into the classroom.

Using Fasal at home

Point at the real thing and say "Fasal" whenever it comes up, then let your child hear the native recording and say it back. One word used ten times in a day beats ten words drilled once. In the Luuqad app, Fasal is taught with a picture, tested in the School quiz and practised in Tap the Word.
