Meaning

Kuleel means hot weather, or heat. Say maanta waa kuleel, today is hot. For a hot object you use the adjective kulul instead: shaahu waa kulul yahay, the tea is hot. The dictionary spelling is kulayl; kuleel is the everyday spelling and the one used in the app.

Tip: Kuleel is the weather, kulul is the thing: the day is kuleel, the tea is kulul.

Example sentences

Xagaagu waa kuleel.Summer is hot.

Using Kuleel at home

Point at the real thing and say "Kuleel" whenever it comes up, then let your child hear the native recording and say it back. One word used ten times in a day beats ten words drilled once. In the Luuqad app, Kuleel is taught with a picture, tested in the Weather quiz and practised in Tap the Word.
