Meaning

Roob Leh means rainy, literally "having rain". Roob is rain, and roob baa da'aya means it is raining, rain is falling. Rain is good news in Somali culture: the gu rains that arrive around April decide the year for herders and farmers back home, so nobody complains about a wet day the way people do in London.

Tip: Roob is the rain itself; add leh and the day becomes rainy.

Example sentences

Maanta waa roob leh.Today is rainy.
Roob baa da'aya.It is raining.
