Sun
Qorrax is the sun. It is a feminine noun, so the sun is qorraxda, and the sun is hot is qorraxdu waa kulul tahay. Somali also has a second word for the sun, cadceed, which you will hear in poetry and in some regions. Add leh and you get qorrax leh, sunny.
Tip: Qorrax ka soo bax (sunrise) and qorrax dhac (sunset) both build on this word.
